The villa, set in a building from 1950, was like staying in a time capsule. It was charmingly outdated, with a vintage feel. The surroundings offered great hiking opportunities.
Who needs modernity? Outdated is the new chic.

As youngsters, we loved the easy access to public transportation and the nearby bus routes. The location was also great, with a play park nearby for kids and dogs. The host was excellent, providing easy instructions and being easily reachable. The house was clean, tidy, and had good facilities. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the neighborhood.
We felt very cared for, nothing to complain about.

Stayed in a "luxury villa" on the edge of a "rough council estate". Good thing I brought my own entertainment because there were no satellite TV channels as promised, just freeview and Netflix with my own account. And hey, at least I could bring my dog.
Such a disappointment that my items were stolen from my car and the local pub was straight out of Shameless. Plus, the garden was more of a jungle.

For the price we paid, the value was excellent and the rooms were cozy and nice. The location was great, with easy access to the city and plenty of nearby amenities. The staff were friendly and the communication was smooth.
The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement.

Spacious Bedrooms: The villa's bedrooms were like mini hotels themselves! The cozy beds and soft linen made me feel like I was sleeping on clouds. I must admit, it was difficult to leave the comfort of those beds in the morning.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the villa left something to be desired.

Clean and tidy house
Convenient key pick-up process. Rooms and living room were nice
False advertisement, not a villa but a ground floor flat in a residential area. Poor communication from the owners, took days to reply to messages.

I felt like royalty in a 1950s time capsule, with the Royal Mile just 8km away and the National Museum of Scotland 8.1km away. Hiking in the area was a treat!
Oh, and who doesn't love a bit of mold on the walls and windows? Simply charming.

Very comfortable beds, easy bus access to the city, close to food and grocery stores, comfortable space for 8, large enough sofa beds.
Felt really good, no reason to complain.

I absolutely loved the charming and cozy atmosphere of the hotel. The decorations were beautiful and created a warm and inviting ambiance. It reminded me of my own home and made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout my stay. The common areas were well-maintained and easy to navigate, which was perfect for someone like me who appreciates convenience and accessibility. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches that made it easier for senior guests, such as handrails in the hallways and a comfortable seating area in the lobby.
If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to have a dedicated concierge or staff member specifically trained to assist senior guests. Sometimes, the children working there seemed overwhelmed or unsure of how to best accommodate the needs and concerns of older visitors.

The villa, set in a building dating from 1950, made me feel like I was stepping back in time. The National Museum of Scotland being 8.1 km away was such a convenient distance, I practically walked there! Hiking in the surroundings was just what I needed to burn off those scones.
Oh, the nearest airport being Edinburgh Airport? How original.

The rooms and living room were clean and well-maintained. The location was convenient, close to the city center and in a quiet area. the check-in process was easy and hassle-free.
The lack of communication and poor customer service from the host was a major drawback. Requests for cleaning and information about the key lock went unanswered for days.
